About Babbie Mason

The fact that Babbie Mason has become one of the most exciting Christian artists in the nation has not changed her down to earth approach to life. Even though her award-winning music is heard on radio and television worldwide and her works appear in the church hymnal, her feet are firmly planted. When Babbie is asked to talk about her lifes accomplishments, she would find it difficult to boast that a host of Dove and Stellar nominations, along with a Visionary Award for Mainstream Female Vocalist of the Year line her wall. In fact, she has reaped two Dove awards, one for Musical of the Year, MAKE US ONE, and another for Gospel Recorded Song of the Year, STOP BY THE CHURCH. She would not think to tell you that she has graced the platform with such dignitaries as Presidents Carter, Bush and Ford, performers such as Bill and Gloria Gaither and the Homecoming Friends, and preachers such as Pastor Jim Cymbala and Dr. Billy Graham. She would find it difficult to boast about being a part of the WOMEN OF FAITH tour, the most talked about womens conference which attracts thousands of women from coast to coast. Never would she brag that such noted artists as Cece Winans, Larnelle Harris, Helen Baylor and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir have all recorded her compositions. And she wouldn't readily admit that she penned the award-winning classic, ALL RISE, one of the most recorded songs in Christian music. Babbie Mason would, however, find it rather easy to talk about her commitment and love for God, her family and the church.

This Jackson, Michigan native and preachers daughter received years of on-the-job training as the piano player and music minister in the church where her father was founding pastor. Today, Babbies singing and songwriting efforts have produced fifteen recordings and an abundance of timeless compositions that are embraced by the church worldwide. ALL RISE, EACH ONE REACH ONE, STANDING IN THE GAP, TRUST HIS HEART, ALL IN FAVOR, JESUS THE ONE AND ONLY, HALLOWED BE THY NAME, WITH ALL MY HEART and PRAY ON are but a sampling of the songs that have made Babbie Mason a towering presence in the music of the modern-day church. Powerful lyrics and singable melodies have made Babbie Mason's songs some of the best loved by choirs and soloists.

Babbie adds yet another title to her list of talents as singer, songwriter, college professor and talk show host. In her second book, FaithLift, she encourages one to step out from under the ominous cloud of doubt and fear that perhaps keeps the heart paralyzed. With transparent honesty, Babbie touches the deep places of the soul with heartwarming stories and real-life experiences, challenging the reader to rely on the truths of Gods word in spite of how they may feel.

It is this inspiring journey of a life dedicated to Christ that we honor in adding her into the Christian Music Hall of Fame. What a wonderful legacy this beautiful woman will leave for generations to come.
